Lilian and Justin are caught in flagrante delicto by Jennifer.

• The party is still occupying Jennifer’s thoughts; Lilian wonders whether Jennifer has really told Fallon and Emma what she wants. Justin calls to take Lilian on a mystery tour – the purpose of which will be revealed (to him) later.
• Jill is expecting a visit from Carole this afternoon. She tries to persuade David to take Lily driving but he pleads that he has no time this week. They both agree that Kenton was an idiot. David puts in a request for an early meal but, with some serious film watching to do, it is apparent that Jill and Carole will prepare supper when they are good and ready.
• A stroke of genius! Justin is delighted that Lilian tracked down Russell Dankworth’s wife at Borchester Rotary and he charmed her into handing over her husband’s direct number. Now, Miranda being occupied all afternoon, should they repair to the Dower House? They could, but Miranda has a habit of coming back early; Lilian knows where they could go. (She wouldn’t, would she?)
• She would! When Jennifer investigates the noises from Lilian’s room, she gets more of an eyeful than she bargained for. Justin makes a rapid exit and Jennifer reads the riot act to Lilian. What if mum finds out? And if Miranda finds out it will be the end of all her fun. Lilian assures her they will not do it again – well, not here. If Lilian doesn’t behave, she will no longer be welcome at Home Farm – and she can forget coming to the party.
