Lilian encourages Elizabeth to make a go of things with Richard Locke.
Radio Times: Susan celebrates at Ambridge View, while Neil ends up in a tight spot.
Characters: Eddie, Elizabeth, Kirsty, Lilian, Neil, Susan, Toby- Susan is making her usual fuss about her party and Neil can do nothing right. She even accuses Neil of spitting on her new dress. And talking of costumes, neither of them knows what Kate is up to. However, the doorbell rings and Neil is unceremoniously thrown out of the back door.
- Eddie tries to convince Toby that he and Pip must have a Grundy turkey but when unsuccessful, tries to go home until Neil appears in The Bull and insists he stays.
- The party goes well with all of the Calendar Girls there except Jean. Kirsty thinks it was more fun than this year’s panto but Susan thinks there is already a chemistry between Justin and Lilian. Lilian also suggests to Elizabeth that Debbie might be able to give her some tips on Dr Locke. Elizabeth demurs but then Susan interrupts. She must give Jean an amuse bouche.
- Toby is bemoaning that he still doesn’t get on with Pip’s family. They aren’t talking about getting married or anything but it isn’t easy. Then the slightly drunk male clientele think they should have to have a quick look at what is going on at the Calendar Girls Party. Maybe they are stripping off again.
- Lilian talks to Elizabeth again. She says that if she has feelings for Richard she should act on them. Any chance of happiness in life is too good to miss. The Jean’s zip bursts and Susan has to take her up to her bedroom to help with the repairs. The blokes spot Susan helping Jean out of her dress in Susan’s bedroom. Neil is determined to interrupt while the others want to see what happens next which ends up with an urn in the pond. They try to cover up by pretending they are carol singers.
- Once the guests have all left, Susan tells Neil that was his last chance at trying to gawp. Come the 1st of January, the ladies of Ambridge will be keeping their clothes firmly on.
