  • Bye bye girls! The pigs are off to market and Jazzer is reduced to working with vegetables. It had to be: Tony wants to concentrate on the beef, although his quest for a bull did not bear fruit yesterday. Pat bemoans the lack of contact with Helen and they agree to try to build bridges.
  • At Home Farm the two Steves are still at work, though foreman Buddy is not; he has a broken arm. Lilian is wondering how to keep up with Lynda’s home-made llama-wool blanket and Jennifer persuades her that she really ought to make something herself, though by Lilian’s own admission she struggles even to sew a button on. Knitting is decided upon but Jennifer suggests decamping to The Bull for her first revision lesson.
  • At Bridge Farm, Pat has taken a call from Brian who wants to come and see their beef cattle (why?) – and have they had lunch yet (that’s why!). Helen has finished cheese-making but before she dashes off Pat tries to talk to her; sadly it comes out all wrong and Helen is quickly gone.
  • Rob has unexpectedly got the afternoon off but is disappointed to find that Helen cannot join him: there are problems at the shop and she will be home late. Actually she closes early, so is not late; however, Rob has bought supper for one, assuming she would already have eaten. Strange decision for the oh-so-thoughtful, loving and supportive partner he is alleged to be!
