• Anthea meets Lynda for lunch at Grey Gables, but turns down the offer of the lead in Lynda’s production. Her husband Gordon was jealous when Anthea took part in Larry Lovell’s FLOSS productions, and Anthea feels she must not risk a recurrence of that. She insists on paying for her own lunch and rushes back to work before Lilian undoes all the work Anthea did this morning.
• Jill drives Jim and Joe to the brewery though Joe is noticeably ungracious until mellowed by several glasses of cider. Both passengers are apprehensive of Jill’s driving, with some cause.
• As Vicky awaits the arrival of the Health Visitor, Bethany manages to be sick twice, and Vicky loses her temper, shouting at her baby. Karen, the Health Visitor, tries to reassure Vicky, and suggests that she accesses help when she feels stressed. Beth is doing quite well, though her legs are floppy. Vicky must not measure her progress by that of non-Downs babies.
