Radio Times: Shula’s devotion is put to the test.

Characters: , , , , , ,
  • Shula finally decides to do the decent thing and resign as Churchwarden. Alan agrees she should go. It’s the right decision. But he hopes they can remain friends. Usha is pleased to here the news too.
  • Usha is being a bit stressed with her Father’s visit. She still can’t believe Satya went straight to her parents after Alan’s call. He absolutely refuses to discuss the wedding so if Satya’s plan was to bring them together, it was a total failure.
  • Matt is beginning to notice the atmosphere in the village and has been cut dead a number of times. Lilian did try to warn him he was stirring up trouble but he wouldn’t listen.
  • Phil is surprised to hear about Shula’s resignation. He doesn’t think she should have done. But in the meantime, he is rather more worried that he has dyed Jill’s cashmere cardigan pink and shrunk it in the wash. He is going to try to buy a new one to sneak in without her noticing.
  • Usha and Alan have a discussion about what they are going to do about her Father. She has finally spoken to Satya who now admits she had tried to set up a resolution with Usha’s parents but now realises it was a mistake. At least it does mean Usha is sleeping though. Alan thinks the thing to do is to have another go at talking him round. He is going to make it a challenge to make him at least crack a smile at the single wicket.
