Matt pampers Lilian in New York but in spirit she is in Dubai.

Radio Times: Lilian lives it up. Meanwhile, Kenton is in Lynda’s good books.

  • Being over-faced with an American breakfast is a common enough experience and Lilian is the latest to feel it; yesterday included shopping and the theatre; today, Matt promises, is for R & R – starting with a carriage ride in Central Park. Lilian actually sounds as if she is enjoying it, so much so that the arrival of a text – ‘probably from Jenny’ – is not allowed to interrupt; no doubt it would rather spoil the atmosphere if Matt knew who had really sent it. Skating is next on the agenda. Matt declares that they are good together and Lilian has to agree.
  • Emma broaches the subject of Uncle Keith; Susan went to see him yesterday. It’s sad to think of him spending Christmas inside but, when she thinks of what could have happened to George, Emma has no regrets. Susan has her hands full with her wardrobe duties so Emma enjoys helping her.
  • Jim’s rehearsal is not going well, at least in Lynda’s terms. Kenton arrives to see the acts in order to get some ideas for his introductions; he rescues Jim from yet another run through. He has been to see the dancers rehearsing too; Lynda is delighted with his conscientiousness while Jim is rather scathing.
  • Why doesn’t Lilian reply to ‘Jenny’ now, since they have a lull in the proceedings? She comes very close to giving the game away by correcting Matt about what time it is in England – her thoughts being in Dubai. She flatly refuses to spoil things by speaking to anyone just now.
