Maurice finds Anthea attractive. Lynda fails to find Robin Hood. Jazzer finds a solution to Lynda’s problem.
Radio Times: Joe is losing heart. Meanwhile, Lynda summons her powers of persuasion.
Characters: Eddie, Jazzer, Joe, Lynda, Maurice, Ruth- The erstwhile silent Maurice becomes uncharacteristically vocal when Jazzer calls in at the units looking for Tom. Over a cup of tea they discuss Anthea, who apparently managed to intimidate Jazzer when she caught him smoking outside the Dower House. Maurice seems somewhat smitten with Anthea, particularly since he overheard her giving Tom a very firm put-down over his ready meals.
- Eddie is late for milking at Brookfield because he has been to the clinic with Joe. Although his plaster is now off and physio arranged, Joe is very low in spirits. When Eddie takes him to see Bartleby, Joe is convinced that the pony is pining for him, and although Jill has offered to take Joe to Highbury, he refuses to go.
- Maurice’s new-found voice appears to have attracted Lynda’s notice as she offers him the part of the more mature Robin Hood in her production. Even Lynda’s oleaginous charm fails to persuade Maurice to tread the boards, though; an unfortunate experience in a primary school nativity play has brought that particular thespian career to an abrupt halt. Undeterred, Lynda seeks out Jazzer, whose offer to take part she has already rejected, and she explains that she is looking for someone of more mature years to play opposite Maid Marian. When she is forced to admit that she has not yet cast that role, Jazzer has an idea. He knows the very person, and she might be a key to making Maurice change his mind.
