Mike is clearly embarrassed to come across Eddie in the Bull. Lilian is interfering in the Bull again too.

Radio Times: Lilian’s in party mood.

Characters: , , , , , ,
  • The hygiene inspector has visited again and Oliver is optimistic. They should get the results on Friday. Oliver is sure it’s time to start leafleting the customers.
  • Matt and Lilian are off partying at the Bull for Matt’s birthday. Lilian is rather more enthusiastic than Matt. Matt has been trying to do his bit with the elusive Mr Beck. He denied having anything to do with Tom’s van but Matt was ready with the threats. Especially given Matt’s contacts at the racecourse and that Mr Beck has the franchise which is up for renewal. It seems that Tom is unlikely to have any more trouble.
  • Jolene is less impressed at having to arrange Matt’s party. She thinks it’s more trouble than it’s worth and she even thinks Lilian won’t pay the bar bill. But Sid thinks she’s over reacting. Oliver and Mike drop into the Bull for a drink but the atmosphere turns frosty when Eddie arrives. Mike takes Oliver away outside to avoid him but Oliver thinks it was Mike being diplomatic so he could avoid Eddie. He even suggests Mike could talk to Eddie about how Clarrie is feeling but Mike backs off very hard. Jolene tries to convince Eddie that Oliver is a good bloke but Eddie isn’t having any of it. He even thinks Oliver has turned Mike against him. And Mike is spending loads of time with Clarrie. And he won’t go to see Ed – even for Clarrie’s sake, there wouldn’t be any point.
  • Matt and Lilian have a great time at the party but Jolene doesn’t take kindly to Lilian’s teasing and plans for renovation.
