Mr Pullen gets a big send-off. Kenton gets a near-compliment from Lynda. Lilian gets a call from Dubai. Peggy gets told off for listening.

Radio Times: Is Lilian’s secret out?

Characters: , , , , , ,
  • On the day of Bob Pullen’s funeral, Jill and Lynda organise the refreshments. Joe is resplendent in one of Bob’s suits; Jazzer in his kilt. It seems that the entire population of Ambridge has turned out for the funeral of a hitherto very silent resident.
  • Lilian is rapidly flagging under the weight of Peggy’s reminiscences and energetic visiting of Whitby’s attractions. When Peggy insists on climbing up to the Abbey, Lilian is horrified, but forced to go along. She insists they must be back by five, because she is expecting an important phone call. Maybe her mobile is unable to receive calls in the open air.
  • Joe is delighted that he is now Ambridge’s oldest resident, and tells anyone who will listen. A tight-lipped Lynda is drawn into congratulating Kenton on his performance in the revels; Jill is just thankful that Lynda does not know the whole story.
  • Safely back in her hotel room, Lilian takes the call from Paul and tells him about her mother’s energy and determination. Paul’s news seems to be that it is warm in Dubai. Suddenly Peggy bursts into the room, to be greeted by a very angry Lilian, pointing out that it is a private call. Lilian has a nasty feeling that Peggy is rapidly putting two and two together.
