Nathan is stung for charity. Peggy sees pictures of Conn’s retirement village.
Radio Times: It’s Race Night at the village hall and Eddie begs a favour from Lilian.
Characters: Caroline, Eddie, Harry, Jazzer, Jim, Lilian, Peggy, Tony- Harry helps Peggy see the photos Conn has emailed on her new laptop, and then shows her round the retirement village to where he has issued a standing invitation. It looks lovely, eight golf courses, fifteen recreation centres, but she couldn’t possibly go and leave Jack for that long.
- Finishing touches are being put to the village hall for the race night when Jazzer points out to Eddie that they need someone who throws money about like sweeties to authentically bid against Nathan to punish him sufficiently. Lilian arrives. Eddie talks her into it without telling the whole story but she works it out from the shades of colour Nathan displays as he watches his nag romp home last; he bid £150 for the privilege.
- Lord Netherbourne is still terribly fragile, what with a broken rib, but at least he has a live-in carer now. And his two daughters and Caroline are visiting often. Helen isn’t resting.
- What with a £20 side-bet Jazzer had with Nathan that brings the evening’s takings to £1,510. Eddie managed to hide behind Alan and Oliver until Nathan left but he forgot that he has to rehearse with him on Thursday and he will still be fuming then.
