Neil’s attacker has been arrested – a mixed blessing for Darrell.
Radio Times: Eddie plans something special, while Neil and Christine consider their options.
Characters: Clarrie, Eddie, Neil, Pat, Susan- It’s odd that Lynda Snell is keeping a strip of land fenced off to keep the llamas out; Eddie speculates that she might be growing cannabis on it. Unusually, Eddie is thinking ahead and asks if there is anything special Clarrie would like to do for her birthday in a couple of weeks. A trip to the seaside would be nice but perhaps too far in a day.
- ‘The dinner’ is on for Thursday; Susan is looking forward to it more than Neil and seems dismayed to learn that they will not be the Aldridges’ only guests: Darrell and Elona have also been invited.
- Pat is keen to impart the Bridge Farm news so invites Susan and Clarrie for a coffee before they start work. The whole herd? Yes but their jobs are safe because they will buy in milk for the dairy. Clarrie, who in a different way has gone through the sale of a herd, is particularly understanding.
- Meanwhile Neil and Christine are discussing organ options in advance of the PCC on Wednesday. An electronic replacement has been suggested and there is a moral issue about spending so much money when there are so many people in need.
- Neil has received a phone call from police liaison to tell him that the man who shot him has been arrested; he was one of the organisers apparently. Darrell should be pleased too, though Neil doesn’t sound too convinced of that.
