One more guest for the wedding: Kenton’s ex-wife will accompany her daughter.

Radio Times: Kirsty is horrified, while Kenton makes a controversial decision.

Characters: , , , , , ,
  • Busy with the wedding planning, Jolene and Fallon are concerned about the vast number of Kenton’s relatives; will they all fit into the wedding room? They will have to tell Pip that Spencer can come only to the reception.
  • How was the weekend? Kirsty’s question gets a vague response from Helen, though Kirsty cannot help noticing that Helen is unusually bubbly. It’s not Rob is it? Before Helen can answer, Tom breezes in with a delivery.
  • Kenton had not reckoned on the wedding date being in term time but, no worries, Mel will take Meriel out of school. Kenton also had not reckoned on Mel accompanying Meriel – she can’t fly on her own, can she? Not only that but Mel is looking forward to seeing her daughter as a bridesmaid. That won’t be awkward will it?
  • In between Tom’s oscillations ‘twixt van and shop, Kirsty presses for the truth. Tom does notice the abrupt cessation of conversation each time he comes in but is none the wiser. Kirsty is concerned that Helen will get hurt; is Rob’s marriage over? Tom’s mind is on other things: how well the Twitter campaign is going; as a thankyou, he invites Kirsty out for a curry on Friday. (It’s going to be a busy evening.) She almost tells him about Brenda being back in London – it’s all round the village – but doesn’t quite manage it.
  • Jolene accepts the extra guest, though she feels that Kenton asks a lot. He rashly promises that every other aspect of the wedding will be exactly as Jolene wants it.
