  • After a restless night Pat goes for a walk and Tony goes out to find her. She is still very upset. Tony tells her Helen has already gone off to work. Pat says all she wants is for Helen to explain but she won’t so Tony tells her to leave it. Pat has done a few sums and realises that even extreme Helen can’t be telling the truth that she only got together with Rob at New Year. Tony is shocked that she is suggesting a previous affair but agrees it doesn’t add up. Of course, it’s all Rob’s fault, a thirty plus woman couldn’t be responsible.
  • Helen tells Rob that she had an awful day but he tells her at least it is now out in the open. No more lying so they need to move on from here. She can visit whenever she wants and soon she and Henry will be moving in for good. He’s going to look after them.
  • Ed promises George he will play with him and Holly after school. Emma is very grateful. But in the garden, a loose ball from Ed ends up in the pond with Holly following soon after. Ed rescues her but George says it was all Ed’s fault for throwing the ball. George thinks Ed did it deliberately – he was the one who suggested playing outside. Ed thinks Will has been winding George up to believe that Ed is in the wrong.
  • Pat pesters Tom to get information out of him. He admits he knew that they’d been together before – but only once it was over. Tom insists she must talk to Helen, he can’t answer for her. So now Rob is even worse for dumping Helen once and then getting back together with her again.
  • Tony tries to distract Pat with talks about new crops but she isn’t interested. She just wants to think it through and goes back through all the timetable. Maybe it started when he came round for dinner. And she spots the time when Helen got low – that must have been when they broke it off. But how did it start up again?
