Pat is scared Tony is going to die. Carol agrees to go with Jim to the LEP party.
Radio Times: Life in Ambridge. [Really? Not much of a spoiler!]
Characters: Adam, Alice, Carol, David, Jennifer, Kenton, Pat- There is a photo of Lynda in the Borchester Echo but Alice isn’t impressed with the interview. Profound grief isn’t going to pull in the punters. And she talks about Douglas Herrington in the part of Sweeny Todd instead of his comedy roles. Alice sees it now as a battle of wills. Lynda has got to stop introducing her sub text which simply isn’t there.
- Pat is back from the hospital and clearly exhausted. She isn’t really thinking very clearly. Jennifer is off to Prague for the Christmas markets and she’s so looking forward to see Kate. Pat isn’t sure what is happening with Johnny over Christmas. He’s got maths and English exams first but he seems to have lost all his confidence.
- Kenton thinks it is funny how David is terrified of who is going to attack him next. David would feel the same in their position. Kenton tries to persuade him he has made the right decision. He has to put the family first. Adam comes into The Bull. David expects a lecture but Adam says he is thinking of taking a leaf out of David’s book. He doesn’t blame David, it’s Brian trying to flog everything off that is getting him.
- Jennifer tells Carol how exhausted Pat is. She tells her about the LEP party and Jim’s invitation and says that she thinks Carol should be the Plus One in the role of Miss Marple. Carol can’t wait.
- Alice is avoiding a row between Brian and Jennifer when Adam tells her that he isn’t impressed with Brian either. And Jennifer isn’t pleased with his late packing!
- Carol drops in on Pat to take her one of her “herbal” sleeping potions. Pat agrees she hasn’t been sleeping well and Carol knows what it’s like. Pat tells her that it’s their Ruby Wedding Anniversary tomorrow but sometimes she feels he has drifted away and she is so scared and it’s the same in the night. She is praying he doesn’t die but she thinks he might and she can’t face life without him.
