Pat tries to find out what is wrong with Helen. Mike tries to find out what is wrong with the tractor. At least there is nothing wrong with Tommy Croker.

Radio Times: Edward and Mike wait for an update. Meanwhile, Pat has plenty of questions.

Characters: , , , , , ,
  • Ed is on tenterhooks as he waits for news about the tests on his herd. To add to his woes, the tractor is not running properly, though Mike offers to take a look. At last Alistair brings some news; two tests have proved negative, at least.
  • In an attempt to get Helen to open up to her, Pat helps with the cheese making, but makes little progress in finding out why Helen’s social life has ground to a halt. Pat suggests that Helen might invite friends round to Bridge Farm, but apparently she is far too busy to think of going out or seeing anyone. Pat then tries another tack, commenting on Tom’s new, relaxed approach to life since he and Kirsty got together again. Maybe Helen feels that she is missing out? That is just too much for Helen, who snaps at Pat. At least an entrance by Tony saves Pat from anything worse.
  • Caroline is busy with arrangements for the festive season, which appear to involve the much loved Tommy Croker band. She is delighted with what Kathy has achieved at the Health Club, and with her ideas for seasonal pampering. What a shame they are not able to match the salary she earned at the Golf Club. No-one appears to have asked Kathy if she might like to stay on. Lynda is upset because Caroline took issue with her making a phone call to a prospective Maid Marian.
  • Pat tells Tony about her failure to find out what is upsetting Helen. They both speculate, but all they can say is that Helen will always be vulnerable.
