Pawel puts temptation in Adam’s way but it is resisted.

• Darrell is back at Arthur and Joyce’s to take up more floorboards on the pretext of checking the pipes. He agrees to help Arthur by putting up a shelf but he has to use Arthur’s old electric drill and it’s none too safe. Matt arrives and is not best pleased with this helpful gesture, though Darrell assures him that he has been following orders. He tells Matt about the forthcoming work in Forsett Magna; Matt delivers a veiled threat that he is spoilt for choice when it comes to workers. Also it transpires that Matt knows Darrell’s new employer.
• Unlikely as it may seem, Jazzer is keen to pick Jim’s brains – on the subject of bread-making. Does he plan to press Harry’s bread-maker into service? In this cause, he invites Jim to The Bull. A disappointed Pawel is there: he had earlier invited Adam to join him to say goodbye but Adam has not taken up the invitation. Darrell joins them and he too has had quite a day of it: the washing machine has packed up so Elona will have to buy a new one on credit.
