Phoebe blows the whistle on Kate.
Radio Times: Phoebe tells it like it is, and Joe has got something for David.
Characters: David, Jennifer, Joe, Justin, Kate, Phoebe- In his meeting with Justin, David is looking for a favour; Justin declares that he is looking forward to moving back to the Midlands but sees no problem with a three month tenancy. It will give his architect more time.
- At Home Farm, Kate is waiting for Phoebe to come home to talk to her about moving into a cosy cottage together. It doesn’t go to plan. Phoebe has been talking to Nolly and knows the truth about Kate’s affair and that Lucas has thrown her out; should she tell gran or will Kate? She is scathing about living with Kate “like the old days”. Kate is not fit to be a mother; she put herself first as always. Jennifer’s protestations that Kate loves Phoebe fall on deaf ears and Phoebe storms off upstairs.
- Joe is a visitor to Brookfield. He has brought an old milk bottle marked “Brookfield Dairy” which proves Carole’s recollection about an in-house milk round. Having overheard Kenton’s phone call, Joe is sceptical about Justin being charming and helpful. He counsels reading the contract very carefully.
- Jennifer recommends leaving Phoebe alone. Kate is worried that Phoebe despises her; she has really blown it this time. When Phoebe reappears, she has been in touch with Hayley and wants to go to see her tomorrow and stay the night. Would Kate take her? Can she do that at least?
