Pip and Tom are both in trouble for not doing the right things at home.

Radio Times: Tom hears some home truths, and Josh steps into the breach.

Characters: Brenda, David, Josh, Kirsty, Ruth, Tom

• David and Ruth are struggling but Pip still doesn’t want to help. David has a row with her but she is determined to say it’s her “uni” work that is important.
• Tom has been to the hospital and Chris is beginning to be able to talk again. Tom suggests they go together to the hospital at the weekend. He then tries to start talking to her about non organic ready meals and she just walks away.
• Josh starts to help out David and he is grateful. Later David and Ruth are falling asleep on the sofa. Josh comes in asking for wrapping paper when Pip breezes out to see a band. So she wasn’t that busy after all. It’s time that girl learned her lesson. Ruth is hopeful that the holidays will mean she will help more but Pip decides she might go off for a few days – she’s under so much pressure.
• Tom tries to make up with Brenda and suggests going out. They agree on Jaxx but Brenda insists he drives.
• Tom and Brenda meet up with Kirsty at Jaxx. She tries to tell him it’s no wonder that Brenda is fed up with him. Not every sentence has to have sausages in it. Kirsty tries to tell him people are laughing at him but Tom says he’s planning for the future. Kirsty says there is more to life than the future.
