Rex makes no progress with Pip. Roy makes a bargain with Kate.

Radio Times: Roy has had enough and Pip will not be pinned down.

  • Pip just happens to drop by the poultry as Rex surveys the scene. He is less than pleased with his brother but cheers up when Pip invites him to Chris’s birthday bash.
  • Toby has better things to do than look after hens and goslings, namely work on his promotion film. The usual wooden exchange, akin to the first rehearsal of a school play ensues. Rex boasts that he is going to a party. Toby wants details but Rex refuses to say anything.
  • A grateful Phoebe tells Roy has much easier it is to work at Willow Farm, and that she likes being looked after, rather than coping with her drunken mother and aunt and their ensuing mess. Then Kate rings, demanding that Phoebe come and help clear up after the Solstice revels. Phoebe flatly refuses, and is overheard by Roy, who goes straight away to Home Farm.
  • Roy tells Kate to leave Phoebe alone. He will give her an hour of his time to try and clear the mess. Kate puts on her self-pitying act; she is so busy with the launch of her business and has no contacts in Ambridge. Roy finally agrees to try and find a caterer for her, whereupon Kate orders him to sort out the dishwasher as well. At least Roy has the offer of an invitation to the launch and a free head massage for his pains.
  • Rex goes to the party where a drunken and screeching Pip is eying up some of the male guests. He learns that the extra hens are not Josh’s at all but Neil and Hayley’s, and no, Neil doesn’t know about the loan. Rex is appalled. Then Toby appears, having gate-crashed the event. He eyes up the female talent. Poor Rex decides to go home alone.
