Rob continues to find himself out in the cold.
Radio Times: Rob is forced to rethink, and Pip is made to be guinea pig.
Characters: Eddie, Lilian, Neil, Oliver, Pip, Rob, Toby- Lilian tells Rob that the Hillside property is unavailable. An angry Rob revs up his vehicle and screams off. Oliver later calls on Rob to say his annual hunt subscription will not be accepted and his cheque is being returned. Oliver has learned of the false account given to the police of the incident with the hunt saboteur and believes Rob to be untrustworthy and not a fit member of the group. For the second time today, Rob’s anger bubbles to the surface.
- Eddie and Neil are back on the job at Mr Jackson’s, who seems less than forthcoming with refreshments. He was observed in The Bull nursing the same drink all night and they wonder if he feels lonely and is finding it difficult to adjust to new surroundings. Neil continues to crave ‘real’ food and finds that everywhere he turns, Susan has warned them against supplying him, so Neil comes up with a plan that involves Eddie going to the shop on his behalf. Eddie refuses.
- One of the sheep has caught herself in a wire fence and Toby assists Pip to free her. He would like Pip to test his few-days old gin later on, which she does. It is revolting and she cannot bear to stomach a second mouthful. Toby agrees that it will not be a success so needs to rethink. He will pour it away and try another batch.
- Neither Eddie nor Neil hold out much hope for this year’s panto, given that Kate is offending half the cast. This year Eddie and Clarrie are promoting a few ‘Thanksgiving’ turkeys as well as their traditional Christmas ones. Lilian arrives and offers to take Eddie and Neil for a drink. She wants to celebrate having just turned down Rob.
