  • Live music! Pip would love it; she needs to give her brain a rest. Her dissertation has to be handed in on Tuesday. She is surprised that Dan is concerned about where people will vote, the village hall being out of action. Pip, on the other hand can’t see what is in it for her. The conversation turns to Dr Locke and his desire to see how Dan has turned out; apparently he was a good friend to mum – a decent bloke.
  • There is an official-looking envelope waiting for Rob when he comes home. Helen is invited to take a look; what a complete waste of time that was. What was Jess playing at? Now Rob can push through with the divorce.
  • Why is Kenton still being so difficult? Does David really have to ask? For tonight he will forget these troubles and have a night off; Pip can, so why not dad. Talking of whom, Pip calls in with Dan to pick up her phone. Before she leaves again, Pip announces that she has a new plan: to go off and see the world. She has seen a really interesting job advertised, though she seems to assume she has got it already. Good grief. That came out of the blue.
