Rob has big plans for Bridge Farm and Adam relies on obtaining Brookfield for his future.
Radio Times: Helen is worried, and Adam complains about Charlie.
Characters: Adam, Helen, Jennifer, Johnny, Oliver, Rob- In the early morning hours, Rob offers to take care of Henry before he leaves for Bridge Farm and then his own work. Helen thanks Rob profusely and snuggles back under the covers for a lie in.
- Jennifer is rejected by Anna Tregorran when Jennifer gets in touch but John his son is more forthcoming. Adam wonders with Anna exactly what Jennifer wants from John Tregorran’s children.
- Rob is teaching Johnny about feeding the cows and there is some disagreement about doing things Tony’s way or Rob’s preference. Johnny insists on doing it the way his granddad does it. Rob refuses Oliver’s offer of help for Johnny before he could answer for himself and later disparages Johnny’s abilities to Oliver. There follows a brief discussion of the accidental kill during the hunt the previous week. Both fervently wish for the repeal of the hunt ban.
- Charlie wants Adam to teach the new recipient of the contract how things are done. Adam wants nothing to do with them but Charlie is very persistent. Oliver drops by to talk to Jennifer about counting the traffic on the road as part of the opposition plan. Both Caroline and Oliver are in Lynda’s production of Blithe Spirit and Jennifer refers to Helen playing the part of the wife driven mad by the appearance of the ghost of the previous wife. Ouch.
- Helen apologizes to Rob for the lunch of leftovers. Rob takes over the preparation because apparently Helen can’t even handle that properly. As Rob prepares their food, he begins to talk to Helen about major changes he would like to make at Bridge Farm. Since Angus cows only need have one Angus parent, Rob wants to investigate changing out the cows to another breed. Helen waivers on her approval but caves in to Rob’s wishes as per usual.
- Adam has finally agreed to Charlie’s request and is giving his expertise for free to the new contract holder. He notes that when they gain the Brookfield land all will be different. They will be masters of their own destiny!
