Rob is used to coercing Helen into believing his version of events, but Shula?
Radio Times: Rob loses his temper, and Lilian settles in.
Characters: Brian, Helen, Jennifer, Lilian, Rob, Shula- There’s the scent of a fox on the hunt and Rob urges Helen not to be ’emotional’ if the fox is drawn, as she was last time. Tired and irritable, he wants her to make a back-up plan for staff sickness as Helen had to take deliveries at the shop yesterday. Too late for the fox and Shula spots a saboteur filming the proceedings. Rob storms over, confronts the man and demands the camera, but comes away empty-handed when Shula intervenes. Not before Shula has witnessed Rob throwing a punch.
- Lilian is settling in and enjoying being part of a family. She praises Jennifer’s new kitchen and has her eye on it to set up office, now that Anthea has left. Jennifer bemoans Roy and Kate’s behaviour and wishes they would stop squabbling, for Phoebe’s sake.
- The additional female guests are beginning to try Brian’s patience. His prized bottle of Burgundy has been supped and he’s come across items of underwear and cosmetics cluttering up the bathroom.
- Helen swallows wholeheartedly Rob’s version of events about the hunt saboteur being on the attack while Rob was merely defending himself. Helen calls on Shula, who witnessed the whole scene, to back up Rob if needed.
- Lilian confides in Jennifer that even before Matt left, they were growing apart and she had felt lonely. Jennifer counsels Lilian to pay no attention to village gossip about her situation and let it be as water off a duck’s back.
