Rob’s knowledge of the naming of his son by Helen prompts swift action.
Radio Times: Peggy is taken by surprise and Toby is on the hustle.
Characters: Lilian, Peggy, Rex, Rob, Toby, Ursula- Peggy receives hospitality from Ursula and Rob as she shows them photographs of the baby and feels it is important to keep them informed, as she has recently had contact. Rob loses his temper when Peggy mentions that Helen has named the baby, Jack, and that it is official, following the registrar’s visit to the mother and baby unit. As Peggy makes a hasty exit, Rob promises that Helen will hear from his solicitor, who he consults straight away. The solicitor advises that Helen is within her rights to have registered the birth. It will strengthen Rob’s case for custody if he begins having contact with his son as soon as possible, but Helen must first agree.
- Toby seeks Lilian’s opinion on his video. Ambridge Aerial Films could be his new spin-off business – corporate videos – since his purchase of the drone. He feels that many businesses around the area could benefit from bird’s eye view footage to promote their premises. Lilian advises that before any promotional work, Toby must first seek consent from those featured in his film.
- Peggy is upset following Rob’s outburst and rings Lilian for support. Lilian can appreciate Peggy’s motives in keeping communication channels open between the two families. Peggy feels that Ursula should not be penalised as Jack’s grandmother, as she is blameless in whatever went between Rob and Helen. Peggy feels she’s inflamed an already delicate situation. While she expresses shock at how Rob behaved, Lilian is more circumspect in her appraisal of Rob: not somebody she would want to cross.
- Rex brings Toby back to earth with a reminder about finishing Bert’s garden and doing his fair share with the geese. Rex finds an email in which Toby has promised a restaurant that they can deliver over and above the number of eggs per week, than they currently have capacity to produce. Toby’s answer: get more hens. This will dilute the unique selling point of pastured eggs, as there will not be enough pasture available. Rex is annoyed that once again, Toby has spoken before thinking.
