  • In the fleshpots of Birmingham Tom’s stag night is in full swing, though Tom is really not in the mood for it. Rob has taken charge, and while there is some kind of armed neutrality between him and Ian, Rob continues to snipe at Ian and Adam. He orders everyone to switch off their phones and to drink heavily.
  • Kenton is still off alcohol, but Rob buys him a Gin and Tonic instead of the tonic he asked for. More nastily, he spikes Tom’s drink. Soon Rob insists that they go to a lap dancing club, though Tom, Ian and Adam are not happy about this. Kenton, by now fairly drunk, goes to ‘make new friends’ as Rob puts it – and is quickly followed by Rob, who later drunkenly reveals that his divorce is by no means as imminent or certain as he has told Helen. Jazzer, equally drunk, admits that the girl of his dreams is now single again.
  • Helen tries to ring Rob, who is, of course, not answering. She then rings Tom, who is clearly not enjoying his evening. He is at least able to reassure her that Rob and Ian are not fighting again. She asks Tom what is wrong, and at first he claims that it is all down to Tony and the cows – but he then agrees that Brenda’s visit has upset him. He knows he should be happy, but somehow it isn’t working like that.
  • Tom, Ian and Adam decide to go back to the hotel, leaving Jazzer, Rob and Kenton to it. By this time Kenton is very drunk indeed, so Rob and Jazzer put him on a long-distance train. Who knows where he will wake up?
