Radio Times: Clarrie makes mischief, and Helen finds it impossible to remain silent.
Characters: Brian, Clarrie, Helen, Jennifer, Kirsty, Rob- Jennifer risks life and limb by leaving Brian in charge of Ruairi. She complains about a kitchen drawer which is sticking and Brian says he’ll fix it but he doesn’t and ends up spilling the contents over the floor. Brian says it can be mended but Jennifer appears to be angling for a new kitchen. Brian offers supper at The Bull as an alternative.
- Clarrie is telling Jennifer how expensive everything seems to be for weddings these days after talking to Kirsty. Jennifer clearly hasn’t heard that Susan’s windfall wasn’t as big as first thought and manages to witter on about the lack of taste people with money have.
- Kirsty hasn’t decided on her wedding dress yet but she still is very keen on the expensive designer one. She notices that Helen is feeling down and asks if it is Rob but she denies it – it’s just the Mum and Dad thing that is getting her down.
- Helen finally confronts Rob. She tells him that Jess had visited and said that she claimed Rob had been with her last Thursday. Rob admits it is true. But when Helen asks if he slept with her, he utterly denies it. She demands to know why he went to see her and why he lied. Rob says he was trying to protect her. After everything with Greg he didn’t want her to know that Jess had rung threatening to kill herself and Rob believed her because she’d done it before and Rob only found her just in time. Helen decides to see that Rob had to go to her if she was being so manipulative. Rob says he can’t realise how dense he is sometimes. He’s made things worse by not understanding. He claims he loves her and chose her.
- At The Bull, Clarrie decides to wind Jennifer and Brian up by claiming that Neil and Susan have put in an offer for Netherbourne Hall. And Alice will have no worries in the future. And they have put George’s name down for Eton. Jennifer is so relieved to find out she won’t have competition from Susan in the county set!
