Roy apportions blame.

Radio Times: The guilt gets too much for Brenda.

Characters: Brenda, David, Mike, Pip, Roy, Tom

• Brenda feels sure that she has been the cause of Hayley’s premature labour, though Tom does his best to talk her out of this frame of mind. Roy won’t answer her calls, so she goes to Mike’s to see if he has any more news.
• Pip enjoys helping David with a difficult lambing and with docking the young lambs’ tails. She admits that it’s a whole lot more interesting than star-gazing with Phil. David is impressed with her aptitude, but fails entirely in his attempts to draw her out on the subject of Jonathan.
• Brenda finds Mike in the yard. He feels helpless in the current situation, and knows that Betty would have found the right words. When Roy arrives home, he is actively unpleasant to Brenda, and makes it clear that he doesn’t want her to come and visit Hayley and Abbie.
• Brenda goes home and tells Tom about Roy. Tom immediately phones him, but gets nowhere. Roy blames Brenda for what has happened, and says she’ll just have to come to terms with what she’s done.
