Roy needs a stopper.
Radio Times: Roy needs a stopper.
Characters: Betty, Hayley, Kate, Roy, Shula, Usha- Kate’s still planning to head off to France early in the week, Hayley’s not convinced of the wisdom, but Kate is obsdurate in her decision. The photos of the house don’t inspire convince, a decrepit and ramshackle place that Hayley wouldn’t take a child of her’s.
- Roy is going round the bend – a state of mind that isn’t helped by the news of Kate’s imminent departure to foreign climes. He immediately heads off to Felpersham to talk to Usha, who recomends that they draw up the papers for a Prohibitive Steps Order, which should keep her in the country, as Roy is worried that she won’t return to face the music of a blood test. This Order could force Kate to surrender her passport. Roy’s very highly-strung and Usha advises calm.
- Calmness and serenity are not what she feels, though. She’s a meeting with Shula to discuss her partnership with Christine and after discussing a few points, she’s a little caustic on the matter of long-term partnerships falling apart and, sensing bad news, she reveals that Richard has left her. Shula acts appropriately surprised and no rat is sniffed. Usha seems more hurt by the apparent planing in his departure, Shula seems uncomfortable in her role as confidante.
