  • Charlie and Todd Foster are complaining about the NIMBYs who are opposing the progress represented by Road B. Adam arrives up to show them around and answer any questions.
  • The time has come to make the final decision: David and Ruth both think that they should accept Justin Elliott’s larger offer but they agree on the need to talk to the children. Pip comes in and demands to know what they are talking about.
  • Adam explains his views on planting the fields. Brian approaches and asks for their opinions. Charlie offers contract work but the response is a resounding silence.
  • Pip is very enthusiastic about the move. She wants to go high tech but David warns her that grass is still going to be the base. Pip has no qualms about accepting the offer although nothing is decided about the new farming practices.
  • Lots of detailed farming discussion continues with Adam, Todd and Charlie. Todd cannot make lunch but Charlie presses Adam to continue on at a posh venue. Charlie once more tries to talk to Adam about some contract work but Adam hints at other options. Brian interrupts with a call and compliments Adam’s handling of Todd Foster. Charlie excuses himself and Adam is free to declare that he will be relieved when they can announce the purchase of Brookfield. Obviously, neither Adam nor Brian have heard a whisper of the competitive bid.
  • David has called the agent and instructed him to accept the offer from Justin Elliott. It is done and this branch of the Archers are heading north.
