Ruth dismisses David’s guy-building efforts as a childish gesture.
Radio Times: David’s bonfire does not go to plan, and Pat and Tony have a delivery.
Characters: David, Lynda, Neil, Pat, Ruth, Tony- The next batch of weaners has arrived. Neil is wondering whether Tony and Pat will manage the pigs without Tom. Pat is still hoping Tom will be back soon; Tony isn’t counting on it. Tony gets in a bit of a mess when the little blighters escape; he knew they would be trouble. No bonfire for him, he’s all in.
- The old tweed jacket has appeared and when Ben comes back from school he will be helping David to make a guy, though most of the initiative seems to be coming from David.
- Lilian is at Grey Gables for a business meeting but can’t resist showing off the little project she has been working on. It’s lovely, beautifully knitted – all Lilian’s own work, of course. Lynda asks a few technical questions; Lilian’s inability to give reasonable answers speaks volumes.
- On Lakey Hill, Lynda has made placards against Route B. If the guy looks like Justin Elliott that must be purely coincidental. Ruth is not best pleased; this is meant to be about stopping Route B, not burning an effigy to the chant of “Down with Justin Elliott”.
