Ruth insist David has a word with Pip about her attitude to university and the farm.
Radio Times: Ruth feels left out, and Emma lets off steam.
Characters: David, Helen, Rob, Ruth, Tony- Ruth is still being unreasonably hostile to Rob though David tells her they need to be friendly. David is fussing about the lambing rota but he hasn’t been able to speak to Pip.
- Tony tries to talk to Helen about her views about Tom’s plans. She admits she does agree with Tom. Tony says they hadn’t had another argument and Tom was even talking about starting a family. Helen didn’t think Brenda was so keen but Tony says Helen hadn’t seen her with Beth yesterday.
- Ruth doesn’t manage to be friendly with Rob though David makes more of an effort. And he fills in a bit about Lynda. They even agree that they might look at the new dairy though Ruth still doesn’t agree. If Rob was a proper farmer he’d want his animals out in the fields. And while she is still annoyed, Pip texts to say she won’t be home tonight. She obviously isn’t doing any university work and she’s not helping out on the farm which was the deal. Ruth demands David has a word with her.
- Emma and Helen meet up again at the play group. Emma had forgotten her purse and is obviously a bit embarrassed about being cash strapped. She is also stressed about Susan being annoyed with her. Helen suggests they go to the playground. Helen does try to tell Emma that it won’t be so bad and that they will get things straight and Emma seems to feel a bit better.
