  • A weary Ruth arrives home and is welcomed with tea and sympathy by David and Jill. Rex arrives to borrow a crowbar to lift a heavy metal door that has come off its hinges at Hollowtree. Jill reveals to Ruth the ‘temporary’ use of Hollowtree by the Fairbrothers for their geese enterprise, tent and all. Jill says she never thought she’d see Fairbrothers at Hollowtree.
  • Casually walking past Hollowtree, Pip comes across Toby struggling to lift the metal door. Pip suggests using the Wi-Fi at The Bull to see the Fairbrothers’ new website. Upon viewing the site, Pip instantly spots that the picture on the homepage was not taken at Hollowtree and is not of the Fairbrothers’ geese. Toby isn’t worried about the discrepancy, nor of the violation of copyright, apparently. He is more concerned with flirting with Pip. Rex calls Toby and demands he return to help rehang the metal door.
  • Jill and Carol discuss the cottage gardens, restored with Bert’s help. The conversation turns to the village fete and then to the Archer family feud. No changes yet, Jill notes sadly, although Shula volunteered to approach Kenton to broker a truce.
  • Ruth and David are annoyed to see the Fairbrothers’ website and note that their business is called Hollowtree Geese. Doesn’t sound temporary, Ruth opines; next time a big decision is to be made she would appreciate if she were included. David brings up the topic of Ruth’s trips to care for Heather. They may have to hire someone to replace Pip when she leaves. Ruth objects but is forced to see the necessity.
  • Rex tries to call Toby to task when it comes to Pip. She is special and Toby shouldn’t mess her about as he generally does with women. Toby counters that just because Rex is interested himself, he shouldn’t interfere in Toby’s affairs. Toby adds that Pip’s family has a good deal of land with a working farm on it. They could do worse, Toby shouts, as he drives off to meet Pip waiting still at The Bull.
