Radio Times: Ruth states a few home truths

Characters: , , , , ,
  • Ruth tells Shula in no uncertain terms that she’s very unhappy with not only her treatment of Usha but her asking of David to keep secrets from his wife. Usha’s coping – just – but in losing Richard, she lost the one person she trusted during her tough times of a few years ago. Ruth reminds Shula that she had choices, choices that would have made life different for Usha and Alistair, not just her and Richard.
  • There are many plans afoot for tourism and the church, like walks, histories and allowing the church to be used for less traditional pursuits – like rock band practices!
  • Kate’s trying to write her statement about why she’s contesting Roy’s requests. She’s having trouble but her father tries to get her to see that words in black and white are what the court wants, not her conviction that he’s not suitable. She thinks that she’s managed to remember chapter and verse about exactly why she’s so sure.
  • Shula has spilt the beans to Janet and is not getting mindless sympathy in reverse, although Janet does suggest that what’s done isdone and that progress – for all concerned – but be better accomplishedthrough looking forward rather than backward. It seems, too, that Shulais still not sure which of the two men it is that she would rather be with.
