Ryan makes a number of enquiries. Neil makes celebratory plans. Ed has an expansion plan.
Radio Times: Ed and Oliver toast the future.
Characters: Alistair, Ed, Mike, Neil, Oliver, Ryan- Neil tells Mike that, far from having no interest in a silver wedding celebration, as Susan thinks, he’s planning to take her to London for a weekend. She loves London, so it seems the perfect solution. Mike’s impressed, and touched when Neil tells him what a wonderful wife Susan is. Neil drops Mike at Oliver’s party and is invited in.
- Ryan, who appears not to be at work, tracks Alistair down at the Stables and invites himself for a coffee, though Alistair is very busy. He tells Alistair that things are going well for him, and thanks Alistair for all his support. But it seems there is more to the visit than that; Ryan asks a lot of questions about Alistair’s life-style and particularly about his finances, though Alistair doesn’t appear to pick up on this.
- At the thank-you party, Oliver is in high spirits. Milk orders are up, Helen is keen to re-start Sterling Gold and the herd is in good health. Maybe Joe’s theory about giving badgers a mineral lick has solved the TB problem after all. Oliver says he’ll continue with it. He thanks everyone who has worked so hard to make the venture a success. They all enjoy the wonderful food.
- Seizing a quiet moment, Ed puts an idea to Oliver; why not increase the herd? Ed has thought about renting or buying more acreage from the Estate. Oliver’s caught on the hop, and at first is negative, but seeing Ed’s commitment, he agrees to talk about it later.
