  • Lynda’s sketchbook is full of grand designs, which she shares with Robert who is both impressed and moved by her depth of thought and symbolism that their new garden will hold. Robert’s contribution to the plans is to open their garden to the village for the Queen’s official 90th Birthday, in June. Lynda’s panic sets in when she realises she will barely have three months’ preparation time.
  • Clarrie attempts to make her home a ferret and dog-free zone, with limited success, as Lynda arrives for an update on the building of the shepherd’s hut. Eddie shows her the work in progress, which Lynda had not expected to be quite so ‘rustic’. With Lynda’s big ideas not limited solely to the garden, the hut specification seems to creep ever higher, which Eddie is not certain he can meet for the cost agreed. Lynda’s next proposition for Eddie is the renovations to her garden.
  • While Eddie chats to Lynda, Clarrie takes the opportunity to speak to Ed and Joe about a surprise 65th birthday celebration for him. They decide on a barn dance, but just need to find a barn. Ed approaches David who is only too happy to offer their barn. Clarrie thinks it may be a good opportunity for Eddie’s brother, Alf to be invited, despite them not seeing eye to eye and not having spoken for years. Joe is not so sure.
