  • Noses are out of joint! Emma is displeased that Helen has had a quiet wedding, and not even deigned to tell her that her services as a maid of honour will not be required; Helen told Fallon yesterday.
  • At Bridge Farm the newly retired parents are pleased with the way their offspring are shaping up. Pat is making plans to enjoy life but Tony is not keen to give up work completely. Pat too is lamenting the lack of a family wedding but it’s what Helen and Rob wanted, so that’s that.
  • Ed needs to call his dad about the cattle coming up for sale in the market next week; Eddie reckons there will be some good store cattle. He needs to borrow a trailer, so he asks Tony for the use of his – and perhaps Tony would come too, to advise him. Tony is delighted.
  • There’s no smoke without fire; Susan is convinced that there are hidden reasons for Helen and Rob marrying in such haste. Time will tell. When Jill arrives the shop committee meeting can get underway. Susan has had no success contacting Hazel Woolley to learn when the shop will re-open. Susan thinks that when they get back to the Green, they should be more professional – by wearing tabards and name badges. Lynda and Jim disagree but as the professional retailer of the group, Susan insists. It’s a tough world and they have to move with the times.
