  • It’s Wednesday, so it must be Grange Gables’ Cocktail Evening. Lynda has other pressing matters to discuss with Ray but he is too busy right now arranging some music for this evening’s event. Music? At Grey Gables?
  • Helen’s tangled web is catching up on her. Mum has suggested that she enters her marvellous jewellery into the Flower and Produce Show. She calls Kirsty. What is she to do?
  • Jennifer and Brian are having a long wait for lunch at the golf club. Has their order been forgotten? The club is not busy. Brian mentions this to Kathy, in an uncharacteristically mild and understanding tone, and is told about the nightmare wrought by Martyn’s cuts. Brian acknowledges that Martyn can be pedantic and suggests it is generally best to try to talk things through.
  • Kirsty saves the day. She has bought some jewellery-making materials for Helen to try and make something worthy of the F & P Show. For her pains she gets a report of yesterday’s encounter with Rob. Seeing him with Henry just made Helen aware of how lovely he is. Kirsty urges caution but her advice falls on deaf ears.
  • The Cocktail Evening has not attracted as many guests as Ray had hoped. Somehow Jennifer has been lured in and when Kathy complains about the state of the swimming pool changing rooms, she is offered a complimentary cocktail as a pacifier. Jennifer finds Ray’s special cocktail so awful that one of the plants gets it. She then beats a hasty retreat but Kathy cannot escape her own complimentary Paradise Sunrise. Cheers!
