  • What does the bank think about Elizabeth’s development plans? After looking at the plans and the building, the bank’s Commercial Relations Manager is worried that they are thinking too small; they are missing out on the overnight conference market. Elizabeth felt ill-prepared to answer him and is a bit daunted by the size of the repayments, should the bank lend them the money – £70k per year. They will have to think very hard.
  • Tonight’s the night of the big Ambridge switch-on, which Kenton has been busy organising. The assembled throng in The Bull are surprised to be joined by Ifty; he’s come to be interviewed by Jim.
  • Iftikar explains the family business which he decided not to join. He has a close and loving family but he rebelled. He studied maths and business at university and then decided he wanted to teach. He is resisting being pushed into marriage by his family, though the details are not to be shared with readers of Borsetshire Life!
  • Having escaped Jim’s clutches, Ifty joins in the celebrations but, alas, without Kirsty: Fallon would not give her the night off. He suggests to Rhys that they organise a double date, though who would then look after Jaxx is not clear.
  • 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and on go the lights; oh, very nice – a magnificent spectacle for radio!
