  • As Friday evening and his assignation with Stefan draw near, Rob is jumpy. Justin wants figures for a broiler house business, and gives his obsequious employee an hour to produce them.
  • Meeting Tracy at the school bus stop, Kirsty is asked to tell Roy that Tracy’s phone is out of action; he will have to call round to set up their next date. Kirsty seizes the opportunity to tell Tracy that Roy is not interested, but too polite to tell Tracy to her face. Furious Tracy rounds on Kirsty, telling her she is Bridezilla, unable to get a man of her own, so hitting on Roy. Not only that, she has had too many pies and is putting on weight. Kirsty can’t accept that she and Roy are an item. Luckily, Kirsty is saved by the arrival of the school bus.
  • Returning from the wedding fair, Elizabeth is suspicious because the house is immaculate. She interrogates the twins, who lie unconvincingly about their quiet evening in. When their mother points out that the CCTV system must have been turned off, they even manage to evade that one. As Elizabeth goes to prepare a meal for them, the twins congratulate themselves; poor Mum can’t handle the truth, so they were right to keep it from her – even the truth of Freddie’s Maths result.
  • As Rob becomes ever more nervous, Justin plays him along, suggesting that they look at the Berrow Farm figures as well. Rob claims to be on a parking meter that is about to expire, and Justin seizes the chance to go for the jugular. Is the parking warden called Stefan by any chance?
  • A shocked Kirsty goes home and tells Roy about her encounter with Tracy. He reassures her about her weight gain, but Kirsty will not tangle with Tracy again. From now on Roy will have to dump his own girlfriends.
  • Squirming on the hook, Rob makes one last attempt to bluff his way out of trouble. As it becomes clear that Stefan has told Justin about the blocked culvert, Rob claims that he acted purely out of loyalty to his employer, as he has always done. Justin should look at his file; the people in Minnesota would have him back any time. Justin points out that in taking Rob on he had to cross several people in Ambridge; Rob takes the bait and launches a vicious verbal attack on Lilian; that woman can twist Justin round her little finger. Calmly Justin informs Rob that he no longer has a job. In fact no-one in the business will give Rob a job now. Minnesota is the nearest to Ambridge he will ever work.
