There’s a storm at the port.
Radio Times: There’s a storm at the port.
Characters: Jennifer, Kate, Morwenna, Nigel, Roy, Sid, Steve Abbott, Usha- Roy meets Usha ahead of their court appearance and he’s very nervous, but she’s already got the mechanism for serving the order in place, she doesn’t serve it herself, but she has someone ready as soon as the court decides on their application.
- Roy’s waiting in the Bull and isn’t being particularly enthusiatic towards Sid’s attempts at being the good host. Sid transfers his wit to the entrance of the fete gut-barging champion – Nigel – who, thanks to Big Louis and a stomach complaint, was the victor. A fact which pleased Eddie no end, who had taken a lot of bets on Nigel to win!
- Kate’s bidding a tearful farewell to her mother – who’s not happy to see either her daughter or her grand-daughter leave. Kate tells her that she appreciates all the things that she and Alice have done, but she feels the need to get away from “things”.
- Steve Abbott, Usha’s agent, misses Kate at Home Farm, but luckily she’s caught in a long queue at the port and, before she can leave the country, the order is served, prohibiting her from taking the baby out of the country. She doesn’t believe that Roy can and has done this to her and, in the face of being in contempt of court, it seems she’s little alternative but to return to Ambridge and await the inter-parties meeting with Roy.
