  • Everyone is getting ready for May Day in the Village Hall. They’ve been collecting cutlery from around the village. Jennifer’s 70s petrol freebies are rejected for the tea party but they’ll do for Clarrie’s party on a 70s theme. Lynda is getting worried about the new road but she is on the case – as soon as the maypole dancing is finished.
  • Pat is desperate about Tom. She doesn’t know what went on between Tony and Tom but there was obviously some sort of a row and Tom has gone to ground again. She doesn’t know what Tony was thinking about. Roy says he’ll go round and check and Jazzer decides to go with him.
  • When they get to Tom’s it all seems very tidy and gradually they realise he isn’t there and that his car has gone. He has left a note saying he has gone away to get his head straight. Pat is frantic. Does he really think they don’t care? She says it’s all happening again.
