  • Susan is getting excited about Emma’s wedding but Emma is showing less interest. She doesn’t want to spend a lot of money. She is marrying Ed and he won’t care if she turns up in her pyjamas. She isn’t going to spend money she hasn’t got and she’ll get a dress in a charity shop.
  • Tom tells Pat that Roy really isn’t coping. He was such a good friend to him and now he feels he should be helping him too. He isn’t going to give up. Tom then mentions to Pat the state the shop is in. It used to look bright and welcoming but now it looks unkempt with stuff lying around on the floor with empty shelves. It always used to be her pride and joy but she bit his head off when he mentioned it. When Tom asks why she gave up work Pat brushes it away but agrees to have a word with her about it.
  • Clarrie is glad to see Susan back in the dairy. It’s no fun with Helen, she barely speaks and then just jumps down her throat if they speak. Susan is more worried about Emma’s plans for the wedding. She can’t think of Emma in a second hand dress walking down the aisle.
  • Tom teaches Johnny about condition in cattle and he gets the idea quite quickly. But reading the tags on the cows, he clearly is struggling. He goes out of his way to stop writing things down. Tom does try to raise things about dyslexia with him but Johnny dismisses it.
  • Clarrie and Susan take Emma to task about her wedding dress. They’ll make it according to her design. It would be their wedding present to her. Emma agrees.
  • Tony is getting better but is bored and there are no beds still in Felpersham. Tom has found something on the internet that helps Johnny read better from buff coloured paper. Johnny is still not keen on the learning support team but Tom stresses that the one thing he has learned is that asking for help is not a sign of weakness.
