Usha tries to convince Ruth to do something special for Valentine’s Day.
Radio Times: Susan rolls out the red carpet.
Characters: Christopher, Emma, Josh, Ruth, Susan, Usha, William- Emma is already struggling at Brookfield with all the children. Josh wants her to be his Dr Who assistant so she hasn’t been able to finish all the chores. But Emma claims she enjoyed it.
- Christopher is reluctant to show Susan what he’s packed. Susan is very unimpressed with his hoodie – it’s not going to look good for Neetia’s parents. And she is even more interested in his wash bag but Christopher is determined she isn’t going to see in that. But then Susan gets distracted by needing to make an impression on Neetia’s parents.
- William is enjoying Emma being busy if it means he gets more time with George. Ruth thinks it’s great they are getting on so well these days. Emma admits they are getting better though George is the main reason.
- Christopher finally gets away. Such a shame the parents didn’t want to come inside. Susan is even critical of Emma turning up at the wrong moment with a dirty car. But Susan is more interested in waving Christopher off than listening to Emma’s problems.
- Ruth confides to Usha that she still isn’t seeing anymore of David. She has thought about what Usha said about needing some space and he was sweet about saying she looked at home in the parlour but it’s still pretty grim. She is planning to let Valentine’s Day go without comment. Usha tries to convince Ruth she has needs too and it isn’t fair to expect her to go on being the penitent party. She should do something to make David notice her and to remind her that he wasn’t entirely blameless. Ruth doesn’t want to push him but maybe he just needs a helping hand.
