  • While on the phone to Ruth, David learns that it may be a long, hard battle for Heather to regain full health. She quizzes him about the state of the flooded paddocks; he reassures her that he has it all in hand. Elsewhere, Roy leaves home for work, perhaps not noticing the good helping of cold shoulder dispensed by Phoebe. Once he has left, she picks up and suggests to Hayley that they should both take Abbie to the Flower and Produce Show.
  • David and Eddie agree that the paddocks are still suffering and the cows really should be brought in. David feels that the paddocks should be showing signs of improvement by now, and sees long term significance in the storm.
  • The Flower show is a hive of activity and gossip. Hayley and the girls face questions from Eddie wanting the lowdown on Roy’s move to Grey Gables. They manage to head off into the throng, just as Eddie shares with Lynda, Susan’s theory that Roy was caught with his hand in the Loxfest till! Almost immediately, Lynda receives a phone call from Pat.
  • David feels rather sorry for his mother when he hears that Carol has won first prize for her, or rather Jill’s roses. But there is worse, Lynda tells of her news from Pat. Her mole at the council says that another application has gone in from Justin, for a bigger anaerobic digester unit, a concrete trackway and a 25 acre solar farm. Lynda goes off to Tweet the SAVE campaign. Moments later, he gets a call from Ruth. He tries to calm her, “Yes they have problems, but they have supporters of good heart… like Lynda!”
  • Having earlier put Phoebe’s nose out of joint by suggesting that they stay on to buy Roy a cake, Hayley manages to track her down and suggests they make tracks home. She wants them all to pop in at Susan’s to celebrate Ed’s birthday. Finding that all the family will be there, Phoebe declines the invitation, she just wants to be on her own.
