Radio Times: Joe gives Ed a lesson in motivation.

  • Jim’s forced Alistair away from his Jim-induced backlog of paperwork to pick up the Riley. Alistair thinks it’ll be hopeless for the lanes of Borsetshire, what with no power steering, and it’ll keep breaking down. Jim wonders why Alistair can’t be more like Kenton. Jim takes it past Tony’s on the way home who likes the car but privately thinks it’ll need a lot of maintenance and Jim has no idea.
  • Wayne makes it downstairs at the Bull, dressed to leave but can’t find his boots. Fallon sternly tells him to go back to bed, he’s still unwell, and then has to help him back. She’ll ask mum to take him to the doctor again, he’s not improved despite almost finishing the antibiotics. Wayne says he’s proud of Fallon and asks for a recent photo of her in the band.
  • Ed asks Tony for advice, but Tony keeps replying without listening. He doesn’t have any spare land to rent Grange Farm, and assumes it’s Ed who wants to expand, not Mike, because he’s young and it’s typical of the young; Tom was just the same. As for Borchester Land, he wouldn’t touch them with a bargepole, even if Brian is now chairman.
  • Ed seeks out Joe for consolation who sets him straight. Brian’s a farmer, and BL can only say no. Carpe diem! Ed should go up to Home Farm and have a word with him.
