  • Pip has been completing her application form for the international company. Ruth thinks it is done well. And she has decent referees set up. Pip hopes she is in with a chance. But Ruth is obviously a little unsure. She thought Pip would want to stay around. So Pip throws a silly tantrum.
  • Fallon and Susan are enjoying a drink in the garden in Susan’s “very select” garden furniture. Susan is counting her blessings. So many people suffered in the flood. Clarrie is missing Keeper’s Cottage so much. But at least she has the wedding to look forward to. All of the village have been very kind in offering food for the wedding. But now, horror of horrors, both Jennifer and Lynda have offered to bring a dressed salmon. Surely Lynda won’t mind changing her plans……. Neither Susan nor Fallon are awfully keen on approaching her.
  • Ruth and Pip make up later. Pip says she is just tense at the moment. Ruth says she only sounded half-hearted because she and David will miss her. But they are both very proud of her. Pip gets an invitation to go out at the weekend but she is avoiding it. Ruth thinks it might be because of her break up with Spencer.
  • Susan is more worried about Clarrie. All of her clothes were spoiled in the flood and there isn’t much cash about. She won’t want to let Emma and Ed down. Fallon agrees and will think about it. Clarrie shall go to the ball.
  • Jim is planning the next village meeting for villagers to pass on their experiences from the flood. The Environment Agency will be attending too. David is still wondering why only one of the culverts was blocked. Was it just luck that the cow stalls at Berrow Farm weren’t flooded. Perhaps the lady from the Environment Agency will be able to shed light on it.
