  • Roy and Eddie are both trying to find teams for Easter Monday’s big football match, some friendly banter reveals a problem – who to referee? Bert’s offered, his umpiring skills might make him a good candidate, although his mobility isn’t what it could be ….
  • Brookfield’s milk yield is very low and they have no clue what’s causing it.
  • Caroline and Graham are enjoying a fine time in the wonderful surroundings of the Lakes. While Graham’s seemingly oblivious to Caroline’s very definite opinion of him as not someone she could be anything other than platonic with, we are getting embarrassed on his behalf. Over dinner he gives her a present of a gold chain – which she loves – and asks if he may say something to her. She tries to fend him off at the pass, but fortune! It seems that he has noticed after all and, what’s more, whether being chivalrous or genuine, has decided that her feelings that their relationship can have no future are mutual. Relief sweeps the table.
  • Relief is in short supply at Grange Farm where, despite Neil’s assurances of earlier in the week, they receive a demand from the debt collectors. Neil doesn’t know why it’s happened, although he suspects that his arrangements have been over-ruled by his MD, but he can’t find out until after the weekend. Susan’s not very sympathetic, but while he’s happy to defend trying to make a better life, Neil is not enjoying making friends struggle.
