  • Caroline has breakfast with a very nervous Shula and has mixed emotions over her decision to testify. Caroline cheers her up with a horror story about her latest date – who was married and claimed to have a very open relationship with his wife …..
  • An obviously confident Simon bumps into Shula who fails to convince him that her actions weren’t motivated out of spite.
  • James’ questioning of Shula is comfortable, concentrating on her alternate plan for the farm that Simon rejected without evening looking at and his obstructions to the insurane claim seeming as though he would have prefered them to go bust.
  • Janice Hawkins’ cross-examination was more stringent, doubting her professionalism and obviously trying to continue Simon’s tack of blaming her for the situation. Shula, who was away when the Notice to Quit was issued, did admit that if she had been there she would have followed orders and issued it.
  • The Grundys are happy with Shula and admit that they have a debt to her. Everyone expects the judgement to be a few weeks away, but Eddie sticks around for the summing up.
  • Outide, Simon admits a grudging admiration and a disappointment that he had seen behaviour like that before, but that he’d phoned Mr Rodway, but Shula stole his thunder because she’d already rung him to say her resignation would be on his desk in the morning.
  • The Grundys have won! Full reasons will be released later, but the interim judgement was in their favour, the tribunal deciding that the Notice to Quit was not reasonable.
  • Simon tells Shula that he wants to see David first thing Monday morning …..
