Characters: Brian, Caroline, Debbie, Jack, Jennifer, Lynda, Peggy
- Peggy’s reaction to John’s idea is as expected – she is very anti. She compares Hayley’s morals with Sharon and reassesses her respectability. Jack obviously disagrees but that is her final word. She thinks that Pat would complain, although Jack suggests she ask her, she declines in case she makes matters worse.
- Jennifer is concerned that Debbie isn’t having much a life away from work, she and Brian invite Simon over for supper and make up the numbers with Debbie. Brian offers her time off to get her hair done and she’s very amused at this idea!
- It’s the business unit open day and Brian is very impressed with Simon’s achievements.
- Larry rings Caroline at work and Lynda spills the beans to Jack about the “sinister obsession”. Jack asks if women don’t like receiving flowers? Lynda asks about if they’re from “thespians who will don a frock at a moment’s notice”?
- Jack wants to be the Grundy’s compurgator, but (unwisely as it turns out) decides to ask Peggy first. Jack is forgiving of their past but Peggy can’t forget and while she doesn’t think that Simon is being fair, she doesn’t think that Jack’s conscience should allow he to stand in their defence, although it seems as though he will anyway.
