• Bert cannot be persuaded that the umpire’s refresher course is not a hint that he’s not up to it. He responds by buying a copy of the laws and boring everyone in the Bull with quotes from it!
• Debbie’s not being particularly positive about the situation – she’s very worried that Simon won’t actually come back.
• Jennifer knows that Shula knows and wants Shula to spend some time with Debbie and suggests dinner that night.
• Kathy’s organising a boules tournament for The Bull – Sid’s even ordered some gravel to level the car park!
• Debbie’s getting fed up (and teary) about the cossetting and sees straight through Shula’s invitation to dinner. Shula’s got some news though. She’s been investigating and has found that Simon’s going to be back in Leamington on Tuesday. She’s not called the police, thinking that Debbie might want to exorcise that particular demon herself. She does, by ringing the police at that very moment.
